Flash is the cheapest image model on Sonata AI, so an idea that goes nowhere costs very little. Try four compositions of the same scene, compare them in your history, and save extra effort, or a pricier model, for the version you actually want to keep.

Why the Flash tier suits fast iteration
A low price per image changes how you work. Instead of polishing one prompt in your head, you let a handful of drafts show you what works.

How to use Seedream 5.0 Flash on this page
The generator above handles both text-to-image and edits. A typical run takes five steps.
Generating needs a Sonata AI account and credits. Sign in from the top of the page; if your balance is low, top it up before you start a batch of drafts so the loop is not interrupted halfway.
Decide: text or references
To create something new, choose text to image and work from the prompt alone. To change an existing picture, add between one and ten reference images in JPEG, PNG or WebP, each no larger than 30 MB.
Write the prompt
Type at least 4 and at most 5000 characters. For a first pass, one clear sentence about subject, setting and mood is enough; leave the fine details for later rounds, once you have seen how the model reads the idea.
Set ratio and size
Pick one of the eight aspect ratios to match where the image will be used, then choose 1K, 1.5K or 2K. Size has no effect on the price, so you can simply leave it at 2K.
Generate and check your history
The button shows the credit cost before you click. When the image is ready, it appears on the page and is kept in your generation history, ready to download as a PNG or to compare with the next round.

Matching the eight ratios to real jobs
The ratio is the first decision on every run. Here is where each one tends to fit, plus one job that relies on reference-image edits.

The short-loop method: draft, change one thing, repeat
Inexpensive generations reward a disciplined loop. These habits keep every round informative.

Flash questions: credits, files and limits
Short answers to what people usually check before their first run.
01What is Seedream 5.0 Flash?
It is the fast tier of ByteDance's Seedream image models. On Sonata AI you use it directly in your browser: start from a text prompt or edit with reference images, then download the result as a PNG file.
02How is it different from the Seedream page on this site?
The Seedream page is an older Seedream editing page that remains available on its own. This page runs Seedream 5.0 Flash, the lowest-cost image model on Sonata AI, and is set up for quick, inexpensive rounds of drafts.
03How many credits does one image cost?
The exact number appears on the Generate button before you click, because prices can change. Flash has the lowest cost of all image models on the site, and the price stays the same whether you pick 1K, 1.5K or 2K.
04Do I get my credits back if a generation fails?
Yes. When a generation fails, the credits are refunded to your balance automatically. You do not need to contact support or file a request, and you can start the next attempt right away.
05Why was my upload or request rejected?
Check the limits first: reference images must be JPEG, PNG or WebP and no larger than 30 MB each, you can attach at most 10, and the prompt has to be between 4 and 5000 characters. You also need to be signed in with enough credits.
06Can I skip choosing an aspect ratio?
No. This model always needs an explicit ratio: 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 2:3, 3:2 or 21:9. Picking it yourself means the image is composed for its final shape from the very first draft.
07Is there any reason to choose 1K instead of 2K?
Not for cost, since all three sizes use the same credits. Choose a smaller size only if you specifically want smaller pixel dimensions, for example for a thumbnail or a quick preview you will send to someone.
08What file format will I get?
Every result is a PNG file. If a platform asks for JPEG or WebP, convert the downloaded PNG with the image editor or converter you already use; the lossless original stays on your device as a backup.
09Can I reuse a prompt from here on other models?
Yes. A prompt refined through several Flash rounds can be pasted into Qwen Image 2.1 or GPT Image 2.5 on Sonata AI. Results will differ between models, but your notes on subject, light and layout give you a strong starting point.
10Is Sonata AI affiliated with ByteDance?
No. Sonata AI is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ByteDance. Seedream is a trademark of its owner, and the name appears here only to identify the model you are generating with.
